We believe in the fundamental role of the State and communities in developing and implementing public policies that promote a legal and regulatory framework for environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable use of natural resources.
In Argentina, we have played an active role in formulating policies related to sustainable land and water management, the creation of protected areas, the promotion of nature-based tourism, the regulation of fishing, extractive industries, and other productive activities that impact biodiversity.
Our collaboration with public agencies at the national, provincial, and local levels, as well as with civil society, has allowed us to promote new government regulations that seek to preserve and protect species and natural spaces.
How do we work?
- We advise governments on the design of policies, laws, and regulations that preserve biodiversity in the country's terrestrial, coastal, and marine environments.
- We generate and transfer knowledge to management agencies to assist in the implementation of policies and regulations.
- We design scientific monitoring tools for public policies with comprehensive impact assessments.
- We support the development of regulations aimed at reducing the impact of natural resource use.
- We help generate clear guidelines on conflict mitigation with the productive, extractive, business, and agricultural sectors.
- We support Argentina's National Biodiversity Strategy and work to ensure the survival of species.
- We contribute to preventing illegal wildlife trafficking through cooperation strategies in Latin America, promoting capacity building and the improvement of national and transnational legal frameworks.
